Supporting people through transitions. I feel that is the space where my talents, my passion, & the ability to be of service to others all intersect. The opportunity to partner on those journeys is one of the reasons why I love working as a Realtor. When those transitions involve buying or selling a home, they can feel exciting, ambiguous, joyful, bittersweet, reflective, hopeful, anticipated, unexpected, or all of the above.

Working as a Realtor is also satisfying because I am able to focus on the process & the people. I firmly believe that good outcomes are created from a process that is intentional, personalized, & transparent. The process of buying/selling a home matters because it’s something that is lived in real time – it’s more than a series of bullet points or best practices.

Prior to working in real estate (est. 2016 - coming up on 10 years!), I worked in student support (ie, student affairs) at various higher education institutions around the midwest. My work was clustered around social justice education & advising student organizations. This is my official shout-out to the alums & friends of the University of Missouri, Iowa State University, & Bowling Green State University.

Helping people do difficult things is one common thread between student affairs & real estate. Consider a new medical student & a first-time homebuyer. Both people are navigating a complex process with huge financial implications. Both are trying to balance needs of the moment without losing sight of the future.

Another common thread between student affairs & real estate is the need to be present with individuals managing a challenging process. Whether I was helping a college senior in their job search or chatting with students in the LGBT Center, I saw my role as being a trusted advisor for that individual. I wanted to be somebody who could offer expertise, perspective, & experience in support of their decisons & their journey.

Outside of the office… I live in Madison with my partner & two children. We are currently dog-less, but hope to remedy that soon. In my down time I enjoy playing table-top games, reading (lots of history, some novels), coming up with increasingly complex DIY projects, & building LEGO sets with my daughters.

I also play the trumpet & enjoy following Badger sports. During my undergrad years at UW-Madison, I was in the Wisconsin Marching Band (Rank 22!) & was lucky enough to have a front-row view of some incredible sports moments. Currently, I'm having fun getting my daughters hooked on the Badgers – especially the local culture & celebration around our elite Women's Hockey & Women's Volleyball teams.
